Jackson is a graduate from West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria and has been in practice since 2019. He approaches massage and manual therapy through the lens of the nervous system. From his personal and professional experiences, he has seen how manual therapy can be used to help bring awareness and change perception to areas in the body that have become sensitive, irritable, and stuck in a holding pattern. He uses a slow, intentional approach to connect with your nervous system.

Sessions are interactive and person-centered with a goal to facilitate ease, and comfort in your body. Each session he gathers information and gets context to help direct the assessment and course of treatment, taking time to check in throughout.

Jackson is also currently a student of Somatic Experiencing® (SE™), a therapeutic approach aimed at addressing how trauma and adverse experiences can manifest as nervous system dysregulation, and how this shows up in our bodies. This approach allows him to adapt his treatments to how you are presenting in the moment, and uses body awareness as a main way to help facilitate change.

Jackson might ask for some participation from you during each session, which can involve gentle movement while he engages that area of your body. Most of the session is done on the treatment table, but sometimes treatment can be done sitting or upright, assessing how the body moves in space. With that said, he asks that you wear comfortable loose-fitted gym wear (shorts, tank top/sports bra) and he will ensure that you are comfortable.

Madeleine’s first experience with massage therapy was as a young athlete. She injured her back while on the wrestling team and was unable to train or compete. The treatment and education she received changed her life! Not only was she able to participate in the sport she loved, but it inspired her to become a Registered Massage Therapist herself. She completed the 3,000 hour program at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in Vernon, British Columbia in 2013. Madeleine enjoys helping people reduce their pain so they can do the things they need to do and the things they love to do. She incorporates facial work, Swedish massage, focused breathing, some deep tissue work, and lots of relaxation.

Hi everyone! I am so excited and happy to be working out of Marigold Massage and Wellness! My name is Sam, and I am lucky to have grown up on this beautiful island, in Nanaimo. Reaching out for support takes strength and vulnerability. You are not alone, and I’m so happy you’ve landed here.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care from VIU and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University. I have been passionate about supporting people for as long as I can remember. Over the past decade, I have supported children, youth, and families in the public school system. I have a deep passion for working with children and youth. I believe that they remind adults to slow down and help adults to see the world through a pure and authentic lens. I work from a holistic, trauma-informed and strength-based approach. I believe that when we feel truly heard and seen, we can create the changes we are ready for and desire. I believe that humans need and thrive with connection, love, and support. If we lack connection, love and/or support, we are imbalanced. In turn, this can lead to all kinds of feelings (lost, defeated, stuck, depressed, angry, confused, etc.). I believe that with the right tools and support in place, we can slowly start to gain confidence, feel better about ourselves, and begin our healing journey. I believe that all people are truly doing the best they can with what they know, the situations they find themselves in, and with the tools they have. No one is perfect; we all need extra help and support now and again. That is what human existence is about, isn’t it? Reaching out and asking for help when we need it. But I know how difficult and how vulnerable that first step can be. I want you to know I’m here for you. Let’s start your healing journey together.

Another passion of mine is maternal mental health. It is an area of expertise I’m currently pursuing through ongoing education so I can provide evidence-based support to women during this beautiful and chaotic stage of their lives.

Outside the office, you can find me playing with and raising my kids, spending time with my husband and family, soaking up the sunshine at the beach, camping, travelling, lifting weights, watching reality tv and reading.
